Hired Law Firm

My employer had a long standing working relationship w Hicks Morley for approx 25 yrs & in 2019 the relationship was severed bc lawyer Michael J. Kennedy failed to do his due diligence. He listened to one side of the story, was gullible & failed to get the facts. He didn't ask questions as he should have. It wasn't until the case was over that he learned of his mistakes & they are: 1) He terminated an employee who was permanently disabled at the time. This is illegal w/in Ontario Human Rights Code. 2) An Agreement existed between the employer & employee which he had no knowledge of. 3) Evidence was available yet he said it didn't exist. 4) He was advised to stop representing both the employee & employer & failed to do so. 5) He communicated w the employee despite a cease & desist order. 6) He covered up evidence to the Superior Court in Toronto to protect his client & himself. 7) He purgured himself.

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.

• Distinguished: An excellent rating for a lawyer with some experience. This rating indicates the attorney is widely respected by their peers for high professional achievement and ethical standards.
