If I could give zero stars I would. Our family hired Kurt Hughes to represent our son in a divorce. This proved to be a terrible error as he was awful.. Hughes had zero preparation and when he had a chance to cross examine witnesses.. he completely “forgot” any of the merits of our case, he was completely ineffective. It was embarrassing to say the least. He was asked multiple times to schedule a court hearing as the other party had taken all the joint marital money and left our son with nothing. He never scheduled any hearing and sent an email that he was quitting as our son’s lawyer and ceased any communication. Our son wrote the court asking to move the court date so he could get another lawyer. The day before the hearing, the court denied the motion in which he didn’t get until the morning of the court hearing. Worst representation ever. Our son was in Florida and had his home hit by Hurricane Michael just 8 days before this hearing so getting a flight was hard Superlawyer??
His reputation is so poor.. he hired a PR company to call him a “super lawyer” and to write articles about him. Kurt, if he was a Super Lawyer, why isn’t there a single review that is positive?? Move on, hire someone else and DO NOT HIRE THIS EXTREMELY LAZY ENTITLED LAWYER!
Beware of any positive review on this self proclaimed “super lawyer” Paid thousands of dollars for zero prep work.. he did not listen to me at all. My ex stole all of our community property money, I asked Kurt 10 times to schedule a hearing.. he did nothing. Then he demanded money just before my final hearing and actually emailed me that he wasn’t going to show up unless I pay him more money..thus not preparing and letting my ex win everything! DO NOT HIRE THIS LOSER UNLESS YOU WANT TO LOSE!!
I cannot say anything good about my experience with Kurt Hughes. He did no preparation on my case.. never listened and provided horrible representation in my divorce. I would never recommend this attorney as my ex wife’s attorney ran circles around him. No preparation when my adult children took the witness stand to testify..he had no prepared one bit for my divorce.
