Coffinas & Lusthaus, P.C. is a law firm established in 1997 with an office in Brooklyn, NY. At this office location, there are 2 lawyers practicing divorce, orders of protection, annulment and 15 other areas of law.
I was using a bigger firm at the start of my case but the billing, approach & outcomes from each step left me unhappy. I changed to this firm & could not be happier with my decision. I now feel as I am doing everything I possibly could for my child.
Retained for a post divorce interstate civil matter (marital assets). Professional, immediate/expeditious responses (to this day - 2 yrs post judgment). She is extremely knowledgeable, great ability to deal with complex issues (matters of NY and interstate law/courts/peers), and complex participants (and resolve their lack of willingness to participate). A great negotiator, and more than willing to meet any reasonable request of her client.
Meredith is highly competent. She always provides useful and appropriate advice, and she argues eloquently in court.
Horrible lawyers. Screwed up my case. Do not go to see them. Will over promise and under deliver. Life is short and pockets are shallow. Do not waist your money on them.
Not knowledgeable. I paid $500 for a consultation with Maria Coffinas on June 27, 2025. I asked which records I should keep to support my childcare obligations claim, and she told me Zelle payments to the caretaker were enough. I just received my court judgment saying that Zelle payment records were not legally sufficient and as a result of her advice I cannot be reimbursed by child’s father for the $20,000k in childcare expenses I paid out of pocket while the case was ongoing. I am a lawyer myself and am shocked at the level of incompetence Ms. Coffinas displayed. She won’t even refund the consultation fee and claims she didn’t “represent” me. I will be reporting her to the bar.
