You should speak to your bankruptcy attorney first. But in general, your responsibility for the home equity loan will be removed should you successfully complete your ch. 7 bankruptcy.

Assuming that you are referring to covenants contained within a properly recorded document... then yes. The covenants "run with the land"... they are not owned or the responsibility of any person.

You cannot modify your first mortgage by filing a chapter 13. You can strip the second mortgage if your home is worth less than the balance on the first mortgage.
