Can you fight excessive storage fees on a car that has been towed?

Answered by attorney Christopher Emmanuel Benjamin (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at The Barrister Firm, P.A.
Assuming that the attempted pick up was during their regular business hours, then it appears that they had no reason to keep the car an additional day. You shouldn't have to pay for the additional time. However, he may not release the car until you pay and must cops that you attempt to call to intercede will typically tell you that it's a civil matter; which means court intervention which could mean more time without your vehicle. Sometimes it's just not worth the fight or you can pay and then fight to be reimbursed the latter allows you to take the time needed to fight without go without the vehicle.

How soon can I file a chapter 7 after discharge from chapter 12?

Bankruptcy lawyer at Paul N. J. Ross Law, PLLC
Six years from the date of filing of the Chapter 13 you can file a Chapter 7. It is the filing date of the 13 that matters, not the discharge date.

What can I do about old credit card debt if I filed for a chapter 7 bankruptcy?

Answered by attorney Edward M. Olson (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at Olson Law Firm
You need to speak with an attorney as soon as possible. The first issue is whether the debt was discharged by your bankruptcy. If it was, then all of the current actions by the creditor are illegal. Having said that, if you enter into new contracts, you can be held bound by the new contracts. Make sure that you do not sign anything until you speak with an attorney.
