The banks are unpredictable. I have had clients try for a year or more to get the bank to consummate the foreclosure. In the practical world, use the time the bank is taking to sell the property to build up your cash reserve.

Yes. Unless you reaffirm the debt. They will need to get relief from the Automatic Stay if they want to repossess the vehicle during the course of the BR. You really need to retain a skilled lawyer. It's almost always a good investment.
