Can I also file my own Chapter 7 after my girlfriend I’m living together? We're both on the mortgage note and are owners of the same home.

This might be possible, but it would probably be considered an abuse of the bankruptcy system, and your bankruptcy might just be dismissed and the case investigated by the FBI. The changes to the bankruptcy laws in 2005 were meant to curb this type of abuse. On the other hand, they may not pick up on the abusive tactic. It is an interesting scenario and you really do need to hire an attorney and discuss the possibilities.

Is there a way for me to keep the car and continue payments?

This is an account receivable in their bankruptcy, and it should not matter that you are making payments, as it is income to the bankruptcy estate. But we do not know how much you owe, and it may not be practical for them to continue to accept payments. Consult with an attorney as opposed to trying to get answers on the internet. It might help them for you to continue to make payments too. We only have a few facts you have given, and those are not enough to get a complete answer. Attorneys deal with facts and the law. You need meat to make meatloaf, we need facts to give advice.
