How will I know when will my release be from bankruptcy?

If your bankruptcy went through, assuming a chapter 7, your debts are gone. The record stays on your credit report for 10 years. So that should disappear from your credit report sometime after Sept. 2015.

Should I sell my boat myself? How?

Richard B. Jacobson
Answered by attorney Richard B. Jacobson (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at Richard B. Jacobson Associates, LLC
Discuss this matter thoroughly with your lawyer. It is possible that you can exempt the property you are considering selling, and then no one will take it away from you. Secondly many financial transactions carried out in contemplation of bankruptcy look very fishy to creditors and the Trustee, so if you sell anything, be prepared to show that it was for a reasonable price, not to a relative or business partner, and explain what became of the proceeds. Best not to do any such thing without serious consultation with a lawyer who knows whereof he (or she) speaks. Good Luck.

Can I keep my house and file chapter 7?

Maureen O'Malley

Bankruptcy lawyer at Maureen O'Malley
If you have that much equity the trustee will probably want to sell. If you can find a Ch 13 that will pay off the late payments you could keep the house.
