If your bankruptcy has been discharged when can you file bankruptcy again?

Answered by attorney Rustin Scott Polk (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at Polk & Associates
You can file whenever you want if you aren't seeking a discharge in the new case. If you are seeking a discharge then the requirement can be 2, 4, 6 or 8 years, depending on which kind of bankruptcy you had before and which kind of bankruptcy you're going to file this time. Also, the years that must go by are measured from when you filed the old case not from when your old case ended.

Will filing bankruptcy prevent my car from being repossessed?

Answered by attorney Spencer Thomas Hale (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at San Tan Family Law
It is an option. If you just messed up in the past but you can begin making payments on time and need a month to get current then a chapter seven. Otherwise a chapter thirteen could be beneficial. My advice would be to talk to an attorney about your various options in a chapter thirteen.

Will going off of disability impact my bankruptcy?

Maureen O'Malley
Answered by attorney Maureen O'Malley (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at Maureen O'Malley
It should have no impact. Usually bankruptcy refers to the immediate time of filing. If you had a very high-paying job that you knew you'd be returning to it might make a difference. You should check with your lawyer.
