It depends on the state where you live, the value of the vehicles, etc. Please understand that bankruptcy is a very complicated process. It is wise to talk to an experienced bankruptcy attorney before deciding to take this important step. Most Arizona bankruptcy attorneys offer a free consultation about the basics of bankruptcy.

I need to file bankruptcy how do I?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Dorothy G. Bunce (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at A Fresh Start
I am not in a position to explain in a limited number of characters how to file bankruptcy without attorney representation. Too many things can go wrong to take this kind of risk and the cost to hire an experienced attorney to represent you is really quite modest. I can tell you that I have represented other attorneys, doctors and even the staff employed at the bankruptcy court, and if these educated & experienced people feel they need a lawyer to represent them, why would you feel you do not need representation?

Can they take out two garnishments at the same time?

Richard B. Jacobson
Answered by attorney Richard B. Jacobson (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at Richard B. Jacobson Associates, LLC
Many states have a 'one garnishment at a time' rule. Even without such a regulation, if taking the first garnishment leaves below the wage-exemption limit, the second one cannot take effect while the first one is in place. Talk to the clerk of small claims court in your locality to find out what is exempt.
