DO NOT CONTACT THIS FORMER ATTORNEY!!! She took thousands of dollars as a retainer fee and then ghosted me only to finally learn that she had been disbarred in the state of California for taking people's money!!! She is a scam artist and has multiple filings against her for fraud which is what led to her being disbarred December 2025, 7 months after taking my money. Spare yourself and find another attorney before she scams you too! I'm going to continue to fight to get my money back and if you were another one of her victims I suggest you contact the Bar to file a complaint as well.
I retained this attorney and paid her expecting competent representation and communication. After payment was made, my calls, emails, and text messages were largely ignored. I was left without updates or clarity on my case. Because I trusted that my legal matter was being handled, I made financial decisions based on that trust. The lack of communication and progress placed me in a serious financial hardship, including falling behind on my mortgage. Clients deserve honesty, responsiveness, and accountability. That was not my experience.
I thought she was going to be great. I paid her a retainer and she has rescheduled / canceled 3 times. As of today, she is not returning my calls. I gave her a COMPLETE COPY of our case details. Now I have to start over. What a waste of 30 days.
We had the worst experience with LoriAnn Owens. What should have been an easy case to recover our damages turned into a long dragged out nightmare. We found her to be extremely unprofessional, unresponsive and unreliable. She was not only unresponsive to us but also to the opposing counsel. I would never recommend this lawyer to anyone and firmly believe we would have had a better outcome if we had represented ourselves in small claims court instead of hiring her.
