About Meriwether & Tharp, LLC

Experienced Divorce Lawyers Throughout Georgia

At Meriwether & Tharp, we've spent more than 20 years helping people through some of the most difficult times in their life. That's our specialty. We know that obtaining a divorce can be a difficult process. Not only do you have to navigate the legal complications surrounding equitable division, child support, alimony, and child custody, but you also have to deal with the emotional toll a divorce places on you and your family. Many of you have to manage this legal and emotional burden while continuing to maintain jobs, pay bills, taxi children to their extra-curricular activities, assist with homework, etc. That is why we decided to focus our entire practice on this one area of law. That is why we are here for you. We take care of your divorce. You take care of your life.

At Meriwether & Tharp one of our core values is education. We focus extensively on internal training and education for our divorce lawyers to keep them sharp on the latest best practices. Externally, we focus heavily on providing free resources to educate our clients so they can make the best possible decisions in their divorce and achieve their goals. Further, our divorce lawyers are resolution focused. Rather than focusing on upping the legal fees through incessant fighting and litigating, we focus on quickly finding the best resolution that also meets your goals for the divorce.

Divorce is difficult, but everyone helped me get through it much easier by keeping me informed of my rights and how the case was proceeding. Very professional, thoughtful and punctual. I would recommend using this firm if you're facing a divorce.

Leh is an excellent attorney with a strong grasp of the law. Beyond his knowledge he is very creative in negotiation while keeping me as a client focused on a final outcome as opposed to the current (often times tense) situation. He was excellent in a staying professional but stern in the face of a difficult situation and was always on task.

My wife and I have known Patrick Meriwether for a couple of years now through his leadership in Cub Scouts. When we had a legal family issue arise we knew he was the type of person we could trust to assist us. We were able to get an appointment with him very quickly and he took the time needed to understand our situation. He was able to advise us on our situation and give a good plan of action moving forward. His integrity shines through in his personality and you know that this is someone you can count on to do the right thing.

Mr. Meriwether was very professional and courteous. He worked very hard to get good results, and always set my expectations accordingly. I have no doubt that my results were positively influenced by his strong expertise.

Leh and his team represented me in divorce very well. Much of the leg work was done by his knowledgeable but lower cost staff and the mediation representation was done by Leh directly. The cards were stacked against me but when the dust settled, I got a fair and equitable resolution. He was very reasonable as well with total expenses amounting to only .4% of my portion of the settlement. STRONGLY recommend Leh and his team.

Hired Law Firm

I definitely would not recommend this law firm. I went to them twice. The first time I thought I got exactly what I wanted in my custody battle. Find out 6 years later that the first lawyer from this firm screwed up the language and gave me incorrect information. Now I owe money from that situation. I found this out after seeking full custody this time around. I was asked for the information more than one time. It seems like 6 people were always working on the case at the same time. Two

Hired Attorney Mr. David Beaudry

Hire this man if you want to throw your money away and basically represent yourself. Did a poor job of advising on my case
