She earned my respect by being knowledgeable in all areas family law. I had issues with multiple states - Texas and Colorado. Ms. Boyd helped me to get both states' Attorney Generals Offices on the same page. No small feat. At first, neither state knew what the other was doing. She protected my interest by making sure I had a judgment in satisfaction of my obligations before I paid AND negotiated a fine settlement for me. Also she got my assets released which had been seized.

I am an out-of-state father (non-custodial parent) who was looking a lawyer that would do what was in the best interest of my daughter. That's exactly what I got from Rita. She did not sugar coat anything and gave me great advice for handling my situation b/c she realizes every situation is different. She is honest, helpful and willing do whatever it takes to take care of the client. I was satisfied with the outcome and would highly recommend her. G.Ford

I personally think Rita is a hard tuff attorney. I liked her service and felt comfortable using her because I would prefer to go to court with a TIGER than a kitten she did a great job for me and I wanted to thank her.

PLEASE HELP! I consulted with Rita Boyd in January 2025. I had an issue that time was of the essence in filing. She told me she could have the case ready to be filed the day after I paid her. The day after I paid her I contacted her. She stated she was moving and she would do it on Monday. Monday she said she would have it done that day. Nothing was done. She told me she couldn’t do any work on it without information about the other party (ssan and DL info). I told her during the consult I didn’t have that information. She charged me $5000 knowing she would not prepare my case without that information, yet not advising me of that until several days later. Ethics would seem to support that if she couldn’t move forward in the timeframe promised without information I advised I did not have, that she would have rejected the case. Instead, she billed me, has done no work on the case, and will not respond to my e-mails or text regarding a refund. Please call or text 805-744-5467.

The Rita Boyd experience was a huge disappointment, after a year and thousands of dollars spent, i felt milked and taken advantage of in addition to having to fire her and the inefficiency of having to bring a new attorney in to finish the work. Rita Boyd forgot court dates, did not pay the court fees in a timely manner, was very sloppy and slow in managing the straight forward divorce process. Topping off the entire bad experience, we lost confidence in Rita Boyd, sensed that she was helping the defendant on my tab, possibly to drag it out longer. Not proactive or even respectful in the relationship. A final point is that her billing was suspicious and seemed that she padded the invoice tremendously and charged for time far beyond the agreement to work only within the retainer. We never received an engagement letter or contract but paid over 12,000 usd. We felt that we were milked and ripped off.

Rita was a HUGE disappointment in our custody case. EXTREMELY difficult to communicate with, as well as TERRIBLY rude, as if we were nothing but a piece of gum stuck to her shoe. Constantly spoke down on us, completely disregarding our needs. Did NOT prepare at all for hearing. Suggested unethical tactics- to omit important details from our court order and sign her name for her. Paid $1000 upfront with verbal agreement that she would charge $250/hr; hired for 1 hour & received no money back!

I was at first pleased with Rita, but things went bad when I did not wish to go after my husband for more money ...etc. He was not the bad guy, which i had to keep telling her over and over. She just dropped the ball on my case and started having her paralegals do it all. I had to keep calling her because they kept getting stuff wrong. My case was rewritten so many times. It was as if she had washed her hands of me. I get a bill after word of what i still owed. I sent her letter saying NO MORE!
