Mrs. Sarah and the rest of Amy Slayden Law have worked multiple cases, depositions, trials, negotiations, and constant litigation over 3 years defending my sons access to their father. No nonsense and graceful trial lawyer combined with amazing and understandable council have served my family well. This practice was responsive to our needs in a difficult situation. Sarah Meigs was extremely helpful. She is knowledgeable and a very good communicator. She explained the legal consequences of our situation but was also concerned with the human consequences. I’d had a prior negative experience with a different lawyer in an unrelated case, so I was on my guard. Ms Meigs’ demeanor engenders trust. I highly recommend Sarah Meigs if you need a great divorce attorney! She was a tremendous help to me in one of the most difficult of times. Having no idea what to expect, I was so pleased with my first interactions with Sarah and her Office Assistant, Dawn. I called other attorney offices, but Dawn was the only person I spoke to on the phone who realized my case needed to be filed in a different county...which Sarah was also more than willing to do. Before my first meeting, they sent me a packet that helped me gather all the information we would need for my case. In all of my meetings with Sarah, I found her to be dedicated, knowledgeable, professional, easy to talk to, and she gave great advice. She explained the entire process and answered all my questions. She was very understanding and compassionate to me, but I had no doubt I'd see her tough side if my case called for it. I honestly cannot thank her enough for what she has done to help me and my children through this process!
The best of the best!!! Usually when it comes to being a man in child custody or child support the man usually has to come out of pocket thousands. I was the defendant in my case and the plaintiff had to pay my court fee’s on multiple occasions. She stood up for me against DHR and the plaintiffs lawyers to make sure everything was fair and correct. I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome.
Working with Sarah was such a smooth process. She is knowledgeable and explains things very well. This is the second time we have used her in two separate custody cases and won both times. When I found myself in need of a family law attorney, I asked all my professional friends and colleagues who was the best in Huntsville. They ALL told me to go see Amy Slayden. I did. I was really impressed by her knowledge as well as her compassion. It's not very often that you actually find a lawyer who cares about their clients. Amy does and it shows in her correspondence and commitment to your legal needs. But she is known as a Bulldog in the courtroom. But outside of the courtroom, you will find her to be warm and compassionate. That's what you want...someone who will fight for you when you need it.
Sarah was exactly what I needed to get through the last 11 months without losing my emotional regulation and piece of mind. She not only got me to a better spot within my custody situation, she helped me grow as a person by her sound, legal advice. She was able to help me reign in my emotions during the times my thinking was border line irrational and did it In a supportive, healthy, and professional capacity. Thankfully she didn’t bill for every email and phone call but was very fair about charging for her time. I’d recommend her 100X over for any type of case!
