I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Warner Pacific University in 1989, and then graduated in the top half of my class at Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College in 1992. I have practiced family law since 1993, and moved my practice to its present location in Wood Villiage in 2021, after spending 25 years of practice in the historic Montavilla neighborhood beginning in 1994.
My clientele comes largely from Portland, as well as the other local areas, including Gresham, Troutdale, Sandy, Boring, Milwaukie, Clackamas, Happy Valley, and Canby. While the majority of my court work is in Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington Counties, I occasionally do work in Columbia, and Hood River Counties, too.
People often ask me if I represent women more or men more. My answer is always the same -- I represent both women and men, and I enjoy working effectively with all of my clients to bring about the best results for them and for their families. I have won difficult custody cases for fathers and find that to be a rewarding area of my practice, but equally enjoy working with mothers in their custody and parenting time challenges.
My best advice for anyone entering into a family law situation is to be prepared: Organize your paperwork, gather information on important issues, and most of all, act promptly to secure your rights in any new family law case.
I look forward to speaking with you, and walking with you through the legal maze that may lie ahead.
