Mr. James Darren Byers

Mr.Byers did a great job representing me on my case.I had afew charges that had me worried but in the end he got me the best possible result i could have gotten so once again I would like to thank JD and his staff for doing a outstanding job for me.

I'm dejon leak and Mr.jd Byers is like a father figure to me he has never let me down always was true to his word and he always fought for my defense he's one of the best around his staff are also like a family I never had. I thank god that I have a legal family like Jd Byers and his staff to always call on.

I retained Mr. Byers in December of 2016 after being falsely charged with Federal Bank Fraud. I was Indicted on the charges in January of 2017. Mr. Byers brought a plea deal to me while I was nearly mentally incapacitated in mental health watch due to a adverse reaction to psychiatric medication. He threatened me on behalf of his felow Masonic Brother and Assistant United States Attorney if I did not sign the plea immediately that my Wife would be arrested. At the change of plea hearing, I had evidence from the IRS that proved my innocence. In fact, so strong that the government would not give a factual bases for the charges and I was not adjudicated guilty of any crime. I gave Mr. Byers the choice to motion to withdraw my plea or withdraw as counsel. He chose to withdraw. At the hearing, he lied to the court. He also threatened my wife by text when she confronted him. This man literally threw me to the wolves in the most corrupt manner. I do not recommend him at all.

This lawyer promised hard work, investigation, interviews an proper preparation for my case. He contacted my family repeatedly while I was incarcerated. Once he finally got his extremely high fees from me and my family, after draining our retirement funds and kids college savings, he was very difficult to contact and folded. I ended up pleading guilty and having a false, distorted, untruthful story posted about me, defaming me and punishing everyone around me. He was an utter failure and I could have received better work from a public defender. I'm innocent of my crime, but never got my chance to get the facts out.

This attorney might have been good in his day.. Maybe he is just not mentally capable at this time. Doesn’t seem to have the staff to help does not seek out for anything to win his case just wants a plea deal , does not fight for you. Unfortunately anyone off the street can do a plea. Seek out better counsel.

Mr Byers will gain your trust all while taking your money and doing absolutely nothing . You are better off with public defender or going it alone. Hey was recently turned into the North Carolina Bar Association for doing nothing they have it on record.

Cannot be trusted! You are better off with a public defender … He might be able to help you with a speeding ticket but I am also not sure of that. Don’t pay attention to good reviews anyone at the office can write that.

0 STARS!!! JD BYERS STOLE $15,000 CASH from me & said he was going to help me with my case. He lied and said I excepted a plea that he didn’t even tell me about!?!? I got a better offer with a court appointed lawyer!!!!! I’m currently pregnant and facing time in prison here soon. I just want to let everyone know the kind of people your dealing with when it comes to JD Byers & his paralegals. Don’t trust any of those people from his office!!
