At J.E. Thornton, P.A. our firm objective is to provide superior legal services in a timely manner at a reasonable cost. Our experienced staff includes two attorneys, an accountant, and a legal assistant to assist you in income tax matters, estate planning, estate and trust administration, business entity formation, and other civil matters.

Jack Thornton opened J.E. Thornton, P.A. on January 1, 2006. Jack has practiced law in Winston-Salem since 1977. He is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Winston-Salem and has maintained an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Alex Thornton has worked for J.E. Thornton, P.A. since 2009 as a law clerk and as an attorney since September, 2011.

Jack and Alex are licensed to practice law in North Carolina and members of the North Carolina Bar Association.

I would give this law firm zero stars if that were an option. I called due to a referral received for a free consultation through my job’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP). I work for a pretty large healthcare provider, so this could potentially be very beneficial to this firm, but I was greeted by the most cruel person I’ve encountered in some time who stated that they don’t work with my EAP. She then said a few smart remarks, said, “Tootles!” and hung the phone up on me. I called back and asked to speak with her boss and told her that she was rude and unprofessional. She said, “I run myself. Didn’t you just hear me talking to my boss? He didn’t have a problem with the way I was speaking.” She refused to allow anyone else in the office to speak with me and continued to blurt out rude comments. She is bad for business and extremely unprofessional!
