Hired Attorney

I hired Jay Prober to represent my son in his case. When I spoke with him over the telephone, the very first time. He was very quick to demand large retainer of $5,000.00 to be deposited with his office. But he never ever revealed at this point that he was out of Canada, while my son's hearing was coming in few days. So I followed his instructions and paid the deposit with his assistant at his office. But on the court hearing everyone including the judge were present, but the lawyer in question was no where to be found. Later on, when I called him, he still kept me in dark and simply said that he adjourned the hearing. Now when we appeared on the hearing the second time, the lawyer still did not show up. When I called back, he still did not reveal that he was out of the country, rather answered that he adjourned the hearing. Now we went to attend the hearing , but as usual the lawyer was not present and he adjourned the hearing and again did not tell me that he was out of the country

Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.
