Mark Spencer Williams is an experienced attorney focusing on civil litigation and family law, including separation, divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and equitable distribution. He also handles personal injury cases and appeals at the North Carolina Court of Appeals. Over his thirteen-year career, Mark has represented more than 2,000 clients and managed numerous appeals. A native of Southern Pines, North Carolina, Mark is the son of two dedicated educators. His father, Coach John Wiley Williams, Sr., was Pinecrest High School’s first Athletic Director, and his mother, Patricia, taught first grade at Southern Pines Elementary. Williams earned three degrees from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.
Prior to his legal career, Mark served as the Director of Financial Aid & Veterans Services at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and was President of the Center for Higher Education Support Services (CHESS). With fourteen years of experience in federal student financial aid administration, he has consulted for over 50 higher education institutions. Mark also co-created LearnStudentAid.org, a training program for high school counselors and financial aid administrators. He frequently presents at national, regional, and state conferences on various educational and legal topics.
