Attorney Ashley Michael is one of the best family law attorney's in the Wilmington area. She will educate you on the laws in NC and give you an idea as what to expect when deciding to litigate your case. She is not an attorney that will tell you what you need to do with your case, but will offer her advice and legal knowledge. The money and time that is spent with her is well worth it and you will feel comfortable with her as your attorney.
Responded to my requests within a 24 hour period. Made me feel comfortable and at ease with my case. And I didn't walk away with a hole in my pocket.
I hired Ashley Michaels to represent me during my separation, it involved a prenup and children. A retainer was paid for my legal fees in the amount of 5000.00 and put into an ILOTA for my legal fees and my use. I told her that I no longer needed her services and I wanted to formally end my separation to my wife. She refused to write up my request. Accusing me of doing things under duress. I wanted to have my attorney write this up because it was what I wanted; I wanted to make sure no one could say my request was done for any other reason then because it was what I wanted. Just because it was not what she thought was best LEGALLY does not mean that it was not the right thing to do for my family. I stated that I wanted a refund of my remaining retainer and I was ending our business together. She then stated that they would cut the check and mail it to a THIRD PARTY and refused to give me my retainer so that I could hire a different attorney to assist in ending my separation.
Horrible people with awful business practices. Will rob you blind and leave you with nothing. This practice only cares about their own financial gain. You would be better off represented by a monkey with a suit on. Again, these people will steal your money and go on their merry way. Have a nice day!
STAY AWAY! Dishonest. They don't take your needs seriously. They simply steal your retainer, drag your case out, and then bill excessively for absolutely nothing. They are bullies and their practices work against the best interest of their clients. They don't care about your family. I couldn't more enthusiastically recommend the no one use their services.
Incompetent and miss handled money and paying of bills for estate. Dishonest.
