I hired Ms Castro for a very serious custody matter involving my young child. I paid a $7,700 retainer and terminated representation on 11/6. During that time, no motions or filings were made on my behalf—not even after I raised urgent safety concerns and requested immediate action, including getting my child back into play therapy. Because nothing was filed, I had to appear pro se at a critical hearing. Even the judge questioned why my attorney had not filed anything given the seriousness of the issues. I had no explanation. During an in-person meeting on 10/1, I provided detailed information and videos related to my child’s disclosures. Instead of addressing the immediate safety needs, the focus was on “winning the case” later. Nothing urgent followed. I was billed over $3,000 for brief email exchanges sent minutes apart, including charges for an email drafted during a meeting I was already being billed for. After reconciliation, only $2,415 was refunded.I cannot recommend her.
