About Joseph Grey

After a distinguished career spanning more than 35 years, Joseph Grey retired on January 31, 2022. Joe’s practice was primarily focused on civil litigation in Delaware’s state and federal courts. Besides his litigation work, Joe advised and represented a number of clients in connection with debtor/creditor workouts, corporate formation and structuring, planning for the protection of assets, corporate dissolutions, and employment matters. Joe started his legal career as a law clerk in the Court of Chancery in 1985, where he served under the late then-Vice Chancellor Joseph T. Walsh, then Vice Chancellor Jack B. Jacobs, and the late then Vice Chancellor Maurice T. Hartnett. Before coming to Cross & Simon, Joe was a shareholder with Stevens & Lee from 1999 until 2009. Before that, a Director with Prickett Jones Elliott Kristol & Schnee (now Prickett Jones & Elliott) in Wilmington, Delaware.

Joe attended college at the University of Virginia, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts with distinction in History in 1980. He received a Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1985.

Most importantly, Joe served as a mentor and friend to his colleagues and other members of the Delaware Bar. His sense of humor, his creative thinking, and his unwavering commitment to always doing the right thing (at the right time), has left a lasting legacy at Cross & Simon. We wish Joe the very best in his retirement!
