About Rachael K. Pirner

Rachael Pirner represents clients in trust and probate-related litigation. She has represented clients in probate as well as civil courts in matters involving trust accountings and malfeasance issues, will contests, contested guardianship and conservatorship matters, and contested adoptions. Rachael also assists individuals in connection with assisted reproduction, handling all aspects, from the contract work to the establishment of paternity and/or maternity.

Rachael has practiced 20 years and has handled many cases in several areas of civil, trust and probate litigation involving adoption and probate matters. She has also practiced in the area of assisted reproductive technology for the past 9 years, representing clients in contract matters and establishing parental rights. Rachael received Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory's highest "AV" rating for lawyers. She currently serves as Vice President of the Kansas Bar Association, after serving two terms as District Seven Governor to the KBA Board of Governors. Rachael has chaired the KBA Litigation Section, and has served on the KBA CLE, Nominating, and Fee Dispute committees.

Rachael is also active with local bar activities. She has been on the Wichita Bar Association's Legislative, Public Relations, Probate (Chair), Diversity, Unauthorized Practice of Law, and Nominating Committees. Ms. Pirner has been active in the Wichita Women Attorneys Association (WWAA) since she graduated from the University of Nebraska School of Law in 1989. She has held all offices of WWAA. She has also served the Kansas Women Attorneys Association as its president, vice president, secretary, regional coordinator, and as a chair of the Public Relations Committee. She received the Louise Maddox Award in 2001 given by the WWAA, which honors persons who have worked to advance opportunities for women in law.

Ms. Pirner has long participated in the Lawyer's Care Project through Kansas Legal Services. She has volunteered to represent women seeking Protection from Abuse Orders, and prepares advance directives for indigent persons in hospice care. Pirner has also served on the Board of Directors of the YWCA and Planned Parenthood.

In addition to serving on the KBA Board of Governors, she also currently serves as immediate past president of the Community Council for Women's Studies at Wichita State University, as a member of the Board of Trustees for KPTS public television, and on the Boards of IOLTA and Kybele, Inc. Ms. Pirner was also appointed by District Attorney Nola Foulston to serve on the Financial Abuse Specialist Team, which is a team assembled to combat financial abuse of dependent adults.
