We had the misfortune of drawing one of the worst administrative law judges in the entire country for our SSI hearing, who was notorious for denying deserving applicants. She made multiple errors in her denial, but our original representative, as is the case with many disability attorneys, had the policy of never appealing beyond the administrative law level. I conducted an exhaustive search for an attorney who would take over the case and appeal it in Federal district court, but was turned down again and again. Most of them said they couldn’t win the case. I had almost given up when I found Leland Law, who agreed that the judgment was flawed, and agreed to take the case. They not only won the case on appeal in Federal court, but won it outright, as opposed to having the case remanded to administrative court, which is typically the best you can hope for. In fact, a direct reversal of an administrative judge’s ruling only happens about 1% of the time – that’s how good Leland Law is.
