Hired Attorney

Absolutely the worst r.e. experience! “Atty” Walker charged us $1035 for a refi that had me doing all the legwork to get payoff info, water bill payment info, etc. When I questioned his fee, he got pis*ed off and said he would have lowered the price but didn’t like the way I asked (which was me saying that I was questioning going through with the closing unless he would lower the fee). Then he said, “we’ve already done the work so you already owe the money so I’ll see you at the closing.” But then he sent an assoc. to conduct the 10-min closing b/c he said it would be too uncomfortable for him to be there. His ability to write a professional email was also strangely absent — he would use capital letters in the middle of a sentence for no reason, he would write incomplete sentences and he seemed like he legitimately didn’t know how to communicate. Even after sending a confirmation email to remind his office of the correct address to send check, it went to wrong address.Avoid this guy!

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*
