Sydney A. Towne is a highly respected family law attorney who has dedicated her career to advocating for clients in Florida. Sydney graduated cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law in 2016, where she honed her litigation skills and developed a passion for family law. During law school Sydney interned with the 11th Judicial Circuit Domestic Violence Division and the Miami-Dade Public Defenders. Prior to law school, she graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in journalism from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Between graduating from college and attending law school Sydney taught high school with Teach for America which deepened her commitment to advocating for children.
Since graduating, Sydney has exclusively practiced family law in South Florida, where she has worked for premier family law firms, gaining invaluable experience in all aspects of family law, from dissolution of marriage, paternity, and domestic violence actions to prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. Her comprehensive background includes training in alternative dispute resolution, including being collaboratively trained. Despite a commitment to working to resolve matters as amicably as possible she is a skilled litigator which ensures that she is a well-rounded advocate for her clients.
In addition to her legal practice, Sydney is deeply involved in the legal community. She currently serves as the President-Elect of the First Family Law American Inn of Court in Miami, a prestigious honor that reflects her leadership in the field. She has also served on the Inn's board for several years, contributing to the development of the next generation of family law professionals. Sydney frequently guest lectures at the University of Miami School of Law on family law matters and has been recognized for several years by Best Lawyers as a Rising Star.
