Gabriela Abreu was born in Havana, Cuba, where she lived only blocks away from her entire extended family. When she was eight years old her family immigrated to Miami, where she grew up. Growing up in sunny South Florida, she spent her weekends at the keys, scuba diving and fishing with her parents and younger brother. In high school she enjoyed dancing and music, which encouraged her to graduate from the Performing Arts academy. She took classes at the local College during High School and graduated with her Associate’s Degree the same month as she graduated from High school.
After receiving her Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and International Relations from Florida International University, Gabriela worked at the Spain-US Chamber of Commerce. A majority of the work at the Chamber was conducted in Spanish, which sharpened her writing in the language. After excelling in her role at the Chamber, she was named the International Trade Manager.
Gabriela went on to attend the University of Miami School of Law. During Law School she took interest in Copyright and Trademark Law because of their link to music and performance. To further her understanding of Trademark and Copyright, she interned with Warner Music Group, a multinational entertainment and record label. During Law school she also spent a summer as an immigration clerk at Catholic Legal Charities of Miami where she assisted the local community with asylum applications. Gabriela continued to expand her legal skills, and eventually went on to work at Cole, Scott & Kissane, P.A. where she began to gain experience in litigation. After two years with CSK, Gabriela moved to West Palm Beach with her boyfriend and puppy, Penny Lane.
Gabriela currently focuses her practice areas in construction defect and personal injury. In her free time she still enjoys all sorts of beach related activities with family, going to concerts, and reading.
