About Atty. Walter A. Piel, Jr.

After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Public Administration, at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, Walter attended the University of Nebraska—College of Law in Lincoln, Nebraska, graduating with a Juris Doctorate in 1994. Admitted to the Wisconsin State Bar in the fall of 1994, he began working as a criminal defense attorney at Raymond Law Office in Milwaukee. In 2009 he left to open his own practice and in 2017 opened a second location in Watertown, WI. He is a member of the Wisconsin State Bar and the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. In addition to continuing his education to stay abreast of current topics in drunk driving laws and criminal defense, he has completed field sobriety training through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)/International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Standardized Filed Sobriety Testing (SFST).

At Piel Law Office, the goal is to provide aggressive legal representation to achieve the most satisfactory resolution for those charged with drunk driving.

I don't really write reviews. I am 50 plus and maybe have written 3 or 4 reviews in my life but I had to inform everyone about Walter Piel. I know a honest and trustworthy attorney is very hard to find. Mr. Piel was very straight forward with his pricing and with the options I had with my case. He is very easy to get in contact and his staff is very knowledge and helpful as well. He is the best attorney I have ever interacted with and I would recommend him 100%. He a lawyer you can actually trust. He doesn't just take your money and do as minimum as he can, he is a lawyer that actual works very hard for his fees. Its was a pleasure having him as my attorney and if I ever need a attorney again he will be the attorney I call. Walter Piel is a 5 star attorney.

The legal system is complicated and confusing to the average Joe. In serious legal matters, Walt and the Piel Law Office understand the law. Their motto of "When Experience Matters" is consistently shown in documentation, preparation, pre-trial, and (as I experienced) in trial. Experience matters in all phases of legal proceeding and the professional, confident, composed nature Walt conducted my case was not luck. I have much gratitude for their services and would want them as my representation in any legal situation I could.

Walter won my case! I was found not guilty of all of the charges I was accused of including DUI with causing an accident with injury, BAC above .08, and the accident itself was dismissed. I walked out of the courtroom with no fine or charges! Walter was professional and tactful in the courtroom. He was definitely invested in my case and fought hard! He was supportive and informative to me on the process every step of the way. Connie was also so helpful and supportive with everything from a phone call for updates with kind emotional support to helping with all of the documentation, paperwork and guiding me through the process. I would highly recommend Walter to anyone!
