Hired Attorney

(2012) Quite literally the worst public defender I've ever even heard of let alone have the displeasure of having "defend" me. She was highly notorious among the inmate population for deliberately, and without showing a sliver of empathy – or possibly even a soul – sending her v̶i̶c̶t̶i̶m̶s̶ clients to prison. So much so that she became widely known as 'Send-Me-Down Sue'. Yes, some people deserved their trip to Oakdale (IMCC). Many did not. Myself, I was 20 years old and charged with OWI (2nd Offense), 5th Degree Theft (a few counts; stole from Wal-Mart), and public intoxication. First OWI was 2.5 years prior. I didn't even meet her until right before my plea hearing and sentencing, at which time she informed me I was receiving a "plea deal" of prison. Bring a naïve 20 year old, I for some reason said "thanks" after being sentenced. She didn't even glance up from her paperwork. I don't know what she's up to today; hopefully not still getting paid by the CAO's to fill prison cells.
