For over a decade Patrick L. Anderson has operated in Washington, D.C. supporting the needs of domestic and international companies, tech startups, trade associations and public entities. By developing comprehensive models for achieving regulatory and legislative goals, Patrick assists clients to effectively respond to policy and political concerns.
Major representations have included drafting a multi-year government relations strategy adopted by a Fortune 500 company; supporting crisis management efforts including delaying enforcement and regulatory actions for clients in the pharmaceutical industry; advising swaps and derivatives end users during the development of Dodd-Frank Financial Regulatory Reform; and coordinating media, legal, and lobbying efforts in support of contract protests.
During his tenure on Capitol Hill, Patrick worked for the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs during the development of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. He then went on to work for a senior member and Subcommittee Chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations. During that time Patrick also served as Co-Director of the Congressional Border Caucus and was a lead staffer in establishing both the Congressional Hispanic Conference and the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute.
