Allan M. Siegel is a partner at the firm where his practice is primarily concentrated in the area of serious personal injury and death resulting from automobile and tractor-trailer negligence, premises liability, and medical malpractice. He has dedicated his entire legal career to representing victims injured as a result of the negligence of others. His dedication to trial work began in law school when he became Vice President of the Student Trial Lawyers Association, a student chapter of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (now the American Association for Justice). Following a judicial internship with Chief Judge John Garrett Penn of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, he became an associate at Chaikin & Karp, PC. In 1997 he joined Chaikin & Sherman, PC, where he became a partner in 2003. He has been named one of Washington's "Top Lawyers" by Washingtonian Magazine, on three occasions in December 2004, December 2007 and again in December 2009. The Washingtonian compiles this list by contacting local attorneys in the personal injury field and asking them who they would choose to represent them if they needed legal assistance. In 2011 he was selected to be included in the Washington D.C. edition of Super Lawyers Magazine, which was featured in the Washington Post Magazine on May 1, 2011. He was also selected for Super Lawyers 2013-2015. Mr. Siegel has been a dedicated member of the Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan Washington, D.C. (DC-TLA) since 1994, and was elected serve as the President in 2008. He has also served as the Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and President-Elect of the organization. He co-chaired the membership committee in 2003 and served two years as the co-chairman of the education committee, planning, organizing, and moderating educational programs presented to other lawyers throughout the D.C. Metropolitan Area. He has also been a member of the Legislative Committee of DC-TLA since 2006. Mr. Siegel is an active member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) and was elected to serve as DC-TLA's delegate to that organization. Mr. Siegel's law firm is a member of the Leader's Forum of AAJ. Mr. Siegel graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1991 from The George Washington University. Mr. Siegel obtained his J.D. from The George Washington University's National Law Center in 1994 where he graduated with honors. He is licensed to practice in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. Allan was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He met his wife Cindy, who is from St. Louis, Missouri, while in law school. He lives with Cindy and his two children in North Potomac, Maryland.
