Andrea Michelle Mehta was born on February 3, 1987 in California. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from California State University, San Bernardino, where she graduated with highest, as well as departmental, honors. While an undergraduate, she was a member and one term president of her school's chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society. She was also a member of two other honor societies: Phi Kappa Phi and Golden Key International Honor Society. She moved to Waco, Texas to attend Baylor Law School, where she graduated cum laude in 2011 with a Juris Doctor degree. While in law school, she worked as a legal research assistant. She was also a member and a technical editor of the Baylor Law Review. Since being licensed by the State Bar of Texas in 2011, she has practiced law in Waco, Texas as an associate of Dunnam and Dunnam. She is a member of the Waco-McLennan County Bar Association.
