About John S. Hart, Jr.

Having served honorably for over ten years as a General District Court Judge in Harrisonburg, including the last five years as Chief Judge of the 26th Judicial District, John is now pleased to return to practice with Bischoff Martingayle. Through his previous experience as a trial lawyer, and through his service as Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in Harrisonburg, John has represented clients at every level of the Virginia court system. He has deep experience in criminal defense law, handling serious felony and misdemeanor cases. Beyond criminal defense, John is experienced in personal injury law, civil rights litigation, administrative law, and mediation.
