About Eric Leckie

Eric Leckie's journey into the legal profession was shaped by profound experiences, beginning with the harrowing events of 9/11. As a law student, he witnessed the aftermath firsthand, volunteering on the front lines of recovery efforts in lower Manhattan. Motivated by a desire to serve his country, Eric pursued a career as a Judge Advocate in the United States Marine Corps.

Deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Eric assumed the role of Combined Forces Command Operational Law Chief in Kabul, Afghanistan, where he navigated complex legal challenges in a volatile environment. Over his 12 years on active duty, Eric's diverse roles included serving as a prosecutor in the courtroom, advising commanders as a Staff Judge Advocate, and imparting legal ingenuity to partner nation forces across Africa and Asia.

Transitioning from active duty, Eric established Invictus Law in Virginia Beach while maintaining his commitment as a Marine JAG reservist. With over 16 years of legal experience, Eric has a comprehensive skillset in federal criminal defense, military law, and security law. His casework spans a broad spectrum, from handling DUI and assault cases to tackling serious sex crimes, murder charges, and intricate federal drug conspiracy and child pornography cases.

Eric's legal prowess extends to safeguarding the careers of active duty service members and civilians through adept representation in contested DOHA hearings and appeals, preserving their secret and top-secret clearances. His credentials include licensure to appear in both state and federal courts, along with a distinguished membership in the Security Clearance Law Association.

Recognized for his exceptional advocacy, Eric has earned accolades including a perfect Avvo Rating of 10.0 Superb in Criminal Defense, inclusion in the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the National Trial Lawyers, and acknowledgment as part of the Nation's Top 1% by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel (NADCL).
