Elizabeth’s career blends serious courtroom experience with years of advising companies from the inside. After clerking for the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, she built a strong insurance defense practice, representing clients in personal injury litigation, toxic tort and asbestos cases, products liability, workers’ compensation matters, construction defect claims, and ERISA disputes. She opened her own law firm and went on to represent well-known corporate clients such as Federal Express Corporation, St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance, and Burger King. She has tried cases in federal and state courts, before judges and juries, and has earned multiple “zero” verdicts for defense clients. Elizabeth was later appointed Executive Counsel to the Louisiana Insurance Commissioner, where she supervised attorneys and the fraud unit and personally led a large-scale fraud investigation and related litigation involving extensive document production and market conduct examinations; the federal case ultimately resulted in a RICO conviction and major judicial fallout. She then served as Vice President & Senior Corporate Counsel for a Fortune 500 BPO/outsourcing company, managing employment and contract litigation, government contracting, IP, compliance, and key internal investigations—work that earned her the company’s first General Counsel Award for Excellence in 2007. Her next role was General Counsel to a growing healthcare company, overseeing employment, contracts, compliance, litigation strategy, outside counsel, e-discovery, regulatory matters, HIPAA, and workers’ compensation. Elizabeth graduated with honors from Howard University and Tulane Law and is licensed in Louisiana and Maryland.
