Joshua D. Brookstein is an Associate with Sahn Ward Coschignano, PLLC. He concentrates his practice in litigation and appeals, criminal defense, personal injury, real estate law and transactions, and zoning and land use, and municipal law.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Brookstein served as Assistant Corporation Counsel for the New York City Law Department, Family Court Division. As a member of the Special Victims Unit, he handled felony and misdemeanor cases from inception through trial. Prior to earning his law degree, Mr. Brookstein had nearly ten years of experience as a teacher and an Assistant Principal with the New York City Department of Education.
Mr. Brookstein was admitted to practice law in New York in 2012. He is a member of the New York City Bar Association and New York State Bar Association. Mr. Brookstein is also a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, where he sits on the Community Relations & Public Education Committee.
He graduated from Muhlenberg College with his Bachelor of Arts in Business and Political Management (B.A., cum laude, 2003). He later earned his Master of Science in Teaching from Fordham University (M.S., 2005) and Master of Education from Bank Street College of Education (Ed.M., 2007). Mr. Brookstein earned his law degree from New York Law School (J.D. 2012), where he was the Student Commencement Speaker and an Arthur Abbey Public Service Fellow.
