Jacob DeRue is an associate attorney supporting Briglia Hundley, P.C.'s business and corporate law practice group. Jacob has practice handling business law matters, including (1) contract creation and review, (2) business entity creation, (3) business and corporate litigation, (4) regulation and corporate compliance, (5) outside corporate counsel work, and (6) Virginia registered agent work. Jacob also assists the community association practice group, handling all manner of such needs, including (1) contract creation and review, (2) general litigation, (3) advice regarding governance and dispute resolution, (4) regulation and business compliance, (5) rules enforcement, and (6) collections.
Mr. DeRue received his undergraduate degree in Political Science, Psychology, Criminal Justice, and Sociology, summa cum laude, from Thiel College and his Juris Doctor degree from George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School. During his undergraduate studies, Mr. DeRue interned for the Honorable Charles J. Siragusa of the Western District of New York. While in law school, Mr. DeRue was a member of the Journal of Law, Economics, and Policy. He also served as the Pro Bono Pledge Coordinator for the George Mason Pro Bono Society, promoting pro bono work for law students. Further, he was a member of the Judges Committee in the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society and the Vice President of Media Relations for the Scalia Law Trial Advocacy Association
