Scott Hjelm has been practicing law in Oklahoma for 25 years, focusing on personal injury, auto negligence, insurance claims, workers’ compensation, and criminal defense. Licensed to practice in all Oklahoma state courts, Federal District courts in Oklahoma, and the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver, he brings a broad legal reach to his work. He earned his Juris Doctor from Tulsa University College of Law and studied at Queens College, Oxford University. He also holds a degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University.
While in law school, Scott gained hands-on experience as a court bailiff for District Judge David Peterson and worked full-time while attending classes at night. He later joined Herb Elias and Associates as a legal intern, advancing to associate attorney and eventually partner. Today, Scott serves as the managing partner of the firm, which has been serving clients since 1963.
Scott has tried over 200 jury trials and secured significant recoveries for clients harmed by others’ negligence. He has also achieved acquittals in challenging criminal cases. Committed to personal engagement, Scott meets with every new client and ensures cases are handled with persistence and determination, regardless of complexity or difficulty.
