Malinda Matlock is a Partner with Rhodes Hieronymus in Oklahoma. She practices in the areas of Professional Liability (Medical, Legal, A&E, E&O, D&O), Employment Litigation, Sexual Misconduct, Premise Liability, Transportation, Bad Faith Insurance Claims, and Coverage Disputes.
Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Malinda attended the University of Oklahoma College of Business and the OU College of Law. She began her career in litigation with a medical malpractice defense firm in Tulsa, followed by serving as Chief Compliance Officer for a large comprehensive health system. Malinda relocated to Oklahoma City in 2000 to expand her practice to all-inclusive insurance defense litigation.
Malinda has tried lawsuits before arbitrators, judges, and juries in federal courts in Oklahoma and Missouri, and Oklahoma state courts. She has also resolved hundreds of cases through motion practice, negotiation, and mediation.
Malinda is a frequent speaker and writer for several legal professional organizations. She served on USLAW’s Board of Directors and is a past chair for USLAW’s Professional Liability Practice Group and USLAW’s Women’s Connection. She has served on the Bench & Bar Committee, Civil Procedure Committee, and Oklahoma Uniform Jury Instruction Committee for the Oklahoma Bar Association. Malinda is a past president, former Board member, and recipient of the Distinguished Service Award for the Oklahoma Association of Defense Counsel and has been a longstanding member of DRI and CLM. She also has been peer-selected as an Oklahoma SuperLawyer for 10+ years. She is recognized as one of America’s Top 100 High Stakes Litigators.
