Mr. Jared Trust devotes his practice to all things litigation, with an emphasis on the defense of hospitals and health care providers in medical malpractice litigation. He also successfully represents individuals and entities in estate and trust litigation, professional licensing issues/complaints and other areas of litigation including commercial and general negligence claims. Mr. Trust values his role as a zealous advocate and trial attorney, as well as a counselor to discuss all matters relative to risk reduction, alternative dispute resolution and proactive approaches to reduce litigation and the costs associated with same, coupled with an emphasis on an excellent attorney-client relationship.
Mr. Trust received his B.S. in Psychology, with honors, from Florida State University and his J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law where he received numerous academic awards for outstanding performance in Evidence, Professional Responsibility, and Pre-Trial Litigation. While in law school, Mr. Trust also served as a director for the University’s top 10 nationally ranked Moot Court Program. He has received numerous oral argument awards from his involvement in international moot court competitions and inter-school competitions.
Mr. Trust has also continuously been nominated as a “Rising Star” Attorney in the State of Michigan based upon his peer recognition and professional achievement within the field of Medical Malpractice Defense. He has both prosecuted and defended claims at all stages of litigation, including successfully at trial. Mr. Trust also has experience in the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Michigan Supreme Court. In addition, Mr. Trust is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and is an active member of the Oakland County Bar Association and State Bar of Michigan Negligence, Insurance and Probate Law Committees. Mr. Trust is licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan as well as the U.S. District Court of Eastern Michigan as well as the 6th Circuit US Court of Appeals. His representative clients include individuals as well as corporations, both small/local and large/national.

•Successfully argued for dismissal of physicians based upon lack of agency relationship to Hospital in high-exposure lawsuit.
•Successfully tried and defended a 2 week jury trial leading to a no-cause of action on behalf of three named general surgeons and a hospital in Macomb County, Michigan.
•Successfully sought and court granted exclusion of expert witness testimony following an evidentiary hearing of an oncology expert’s qualifications.
•Travels across the country taking lead on expert depositions in topics such as emergency medicine, nursing, neurosurgery, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedics and general surgery.
•Lectures to medical school residents, nurses, social workers and emergency room staff on topics such as abuse reporting, medical record documentation and creation and general liability issues.
•Defended hospital systems throughout the State of Michigan in areas of medical malpractice, premises liability, and other areas of general negligence.
•Assisted physicians in licensing matters including resolution of Complaints, administrative hearings and communication with the State of Michigan Attorney General’s Office.
•Requested by hospital clients to protect the interests of the physicians and health systems in subpoenaed depositions.
•Successfully represented numerous clients in breach of contract matters involving automobile and home construction defects.
•Successfully argued for dismissal of all allegations of medical malpractice based upon an untimely filed lawsuit.
•Assisted physician’s offices in drafting appropriate consent and risk documents for medical procedures.
