Attorney Spat has been a blessing for our family. We had been trying to get my son, who suffers from a mental illness, approved for SSI benefits for over 3 years. After being denied over and over we contacted several local attorneys and got the runaround. Finally, someone recommended Attorney Meril Spat to us. We went to see her in January 2020, her demeanor and warm personality immediately won us over. She got all the paperwork needed, and reached out to all those that needed to be contacted, here we are April 2020 and my son got a positive response. To think, if we had met with her back in 2016 this would've been history already. I would recommend her to anyone, regardless of your situation, she is honest and straight up with you, you will not get the runaround, and if she takes your case. You can be sure that she will represent you like no other.

Hello, working with her was like guiding myself on almost everything. In the beginning she communicates. After the first couple of months she stopped responding to almost all of my correspondence. I'm not sure what's going on these days, but lawyers seem to have gotten worse in general. They start off strong and polite. I believe that's to give us a false sense of security. Ms. Spat repeatedly ignored my emails and there was absolutely no preparation for my hearing at all. I think the indifference and cruelty she showed me during the case was abusive. Ignoring your own clients that she is making money off of is cruel. I did not get one minute of any kind of advice before my hearing. I'm disgusted at how lawyers treat their own clients. I was shocked at how she ignored me for months. Even knowing my hearing was coming up. Nothing at all to prepare me. I had to prepare myself for the hearing and I was very nervous. Even during the hearing I think the job she did was mediocre.
I’ll change this if she decides to come through, but as of now: she’s stopped communicating after texting me for a bit with guidance about my case. So I don’t know if she’s dropped me case. I’d like to know either way.
Worst lawyer you could ever hire, trust me. I lost my home because of her. She doesn’t communication or do her job representing you. Don’t even bother considering her to represent you, you will lose
