Mr.Kleinman was a mediator in my divorce process with my husband. He is highly professional, knowledgeable and intelligent with a great experience in Family Law. He did a miracle for me! He negotiated a house for me which I would have never gotten if I have gone to court. He is amazing lawyer and negotiator and I highly recommend him. He is worth every penny. Michael is probably the only lawyer in Toronto I would recommend in family law. He is kind and understanding. Most of all he explains what is non-negotiable and therefore does not waste time posturing in order to increase his billable hours as everyone else in his field does. Unlike other countries and provinces, the laws in Ontario are practically fixed always favoring payees so there is no room to maneuver. He does not string along clients as a result and the outcome is clean and swift.
Used this lawyer for a mediation of home and pension. Absolutely terrible lawyer. Deviated from the law. Did not review finances and impacts of what was proposed. Forcefully persuaded me to accept a settlement that deviated from the law. Do not use this lawyer for mediation.
Mr. Kleinman represented me almost 20 years ago in a family law matter. I had to let him go but unfortunately by that time my case was already too damaged. He did not communicate openly to me that he really did not support my intended course of action. From my perspective, he had told me the best chance to achieve my am in court was to do such and such and then immediately upon doing such and such he told me we had no chance to win. Then he denied ever saying that he thought the course of action he had suggested could have led to the result that I wanted. The bad legal advice could be chalked up to inexperience but it’s very hard for a person‘s character to change and his inability to be forthright with me is grounds for continued concern.
