    for the National Association of Attorneys General. Hesse has nearly 70 reported opinions in various federal and state courts. He is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Washburn University participating in both the Intensive Trial Advocacy Program and the Taking and Defending Depositions courses. The National Institute for Trial Advocacy NITA bestowed upon him a diploma in Teaching Advocacy Skills. On two occasions, he served as a teacher at the NITA Mid-America Deposition Skills Seminar hosted by Washburn Law. A KBA member, Hesse is past president of the KBA Government Attorney Section. With Chris Burger, he has co-authored articles for the KBA Journal and KBA Construction Law Handbook. Fellow: during the 2002 session of the Supreme Court of the United States. He has been certified by the Federation of Associated Regulatory Boards and the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.

    Active in his community, Scott annually gives of his time to the Washburn University School of Law Intensive Trial Advocacy Program. A Paul Harris Fellow, Scott has also served as president of the Topeka South Rotary. The Kansas Agriculture and Rural Leadership program asked him to be a member of Class IX where he has remained active as a KARL alumnus. He has served on the Topeka Bar Association Ethics Committee and the Kansas Bar Association Government Lawyers section as a past chair.

    In addition to being an attorney, Scott has been licensed as a real estate broker since 1978 and assists his wife, Anne, in their family real estate business. He also manages the 350-acre Hesse family farm in rural Shawnee County, where he lives with Anne and their three children.
