Novins York Jacobus & Dooley is a law firm established in 1936 with an office in Toms River, NJ. At this office location, there are 3 lawyers practicing real estate, insurance, personal injury and 34 other areas of law.
Everyone in the office was helpful and professional. The lawyer I used for my legal issue was so knowledgeable and accomodating that I used the firm again for a private, personal issue.
This firm prides itself on “responsiveness and client service “ none of which I have experienced. My attorney has dragged my case out for two years!! I can’t get answers to my questions and then when I do finally get to talk to an attorney all I here are excuses as to why something wasn’t done. The fact that simple things can’t get answered makes me believe that I have been lied to all along about what was being done. If you want results don’t look here. I am highly disappointed in a firm that prides itself on service then not actually providing any!
I was referred to Mr. Michael Jacobus by a good friend who speaks highly of him. So I had very high expectation even before working with Mike. Then the experience exceeded my expectation. Mike patiently listened and explained to me all I need. And I was more than impressed by how fast he replied to my email or answered my calls. I got this first-class professional service even as a customer with a basic case. So I am very thankful and would like to work with Mike for all my legal issues in the future if I could.

I have been using Michael York of Novins York Jacobus & Dooley for all my personal and business legal matters for some time now. Michael is always just a phone call or text away and no matter how busy he is or what time of day it is, he always responds quickly. I think my favorite part of dealing with him, besides his vast legal knowledge and great sense of humor, is the fact that he doesn't sugar coat anything. You always get a straight and honest answer with no BS! I have also recommended him, without reservation, to many friends and colleagues and have had anything but great feedback from them as well.
Beware! My divorce attorney at this firm took a $10,000 retainer and dragged out my case while delivering zero results. She consistently did not keep our appointments giving me a long list of reasons regarding personal matters as to why she just didn’t show up for our meetings. She gave me the run around and ran through my retainer and did nothing. She blamed the adversary knowing I couldn’t verify her claims. When I brought my complaint to one of the partners at Novins, York, & Jacobus, he sided with her without investigating the matter. All around unprofessional, negligent and a scam. I had to hire another attorney and pay another retainer at the end of the day. Absolutely despicable!
