Bell took the large retainer, then refused to investigate or to prepare for trial. From the outset, she demanded I plead guilty to something I did not do, promising a short sentence. At a habeas hearing, she then lied repeatedly, claiming she never said what she indeed did say repeatedly. She refused to answer phone calls from family members. After an extremely long sentence was 'awarded', she abandoned me. She refused to itemize charges, and would not refund any of the retainer. Her only phone call was to the DA, asking what deals he was offering. She had my case for 13 months, yet did absolutely no work on the case. She was very condescending in her attitude and speech, and never once hesitated before blatantly lying. Sorry excuse of an attorney; she should be disbarred permanently.
