Working with Mr. Stern is easy and comforting. I retained Mr. Stern for estate planning purposes. While this can sometimes be confusing, Mr. Stern is excellent at explaining all aspects of the estate planning process - from the inception to the ultimate end and final disposition of your estate. Mr. Stern is very accommodating when meeting clients at the convenience of the client. Mr. Stern is reliable and very trustworthy, especially with highly confidential personal information. I highly recommend Mr. Stern and his law firm.
I had a Trust which needed several updates. I chose the wrong attorney! Mr. Stern told me he could complete that in two hours. When I requested a two sentence addition, his billing hours doubled. Then when he emailed me the final draft to set up signing, I was dismayed to find many errors: from unacceptable spelling errors in emails and even the Successor Trustee’s name to complete muddling per my instructions of beneficiary funds distributions. If I’m paying $350 per hour, I expect professional attention to important details. Confronted with a list of all the errors, he agreed to refund half of my deposit. When I picked up my personal Trust copy, I discovered a final example of his sloppy work—there was a large water stain on the cover, as if it had been used as a drink coaster! Be prepared to oversee every word in documents and to be overcharged for unprofessional work.
