Mr. Adam Cervera does not show passion , nor aggressiveness like most great attorneys do. Sometimes you wonder if he is really working for you. Does not show initiative or plan. Do not waste your money.

This law firm seems very sketchy. We have board members of our association being sued (for good reason) and Poliakoff and Backer seem to be representing the board members and not the owners in our association. One of the owners requested documents and had to pay for them, when they were available electronically. They charged an exorbitant amount to represent the board members, which they billed to the association. The board members cherry picked the firm that agreed with them, and racked up a huge bill. Poliakoff and Backer didn't even give the proper legal notice for a meeting that involves a change of attorney. That's pretty bad for a firm that purports to be experts in HOA and condo law. I would not use this firm.

I made a full payment to Becker & Poliakoff on April 28, 2025, to resolve my HOA debt. At the time, they gave me no indication that it was a “partial” payment. Then, on May 8, they sent me a notice claiming I still owed over $2,000 in fees I had never been told about. Trying to resolve the issue, I paid the additional $2,000 on May 14. Today, it’s been 15 days and my HOA account is still frozen because they still haven’t received the money . I’ve called, I’ve emailed, and they haven’t responded at all to explain what’s happening. I’ve been left completely in the dark and unable to access my account. This lack of communication and accountability is unprofessional and unacceptable for any law firm, especially one responsible for managing legal collections. If you’re looking for reliable, transparent service, I strongly advise you to think twice before working with this firm.
