Katherine was born and raised in Mississippi on a horse farm, where she grew up raising and showing American Quarter Horses. She graduated from Magnolia Heights School in 1995, earned her B.A. in History from the University of Mississippi in 1999, and went on to receive her J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 2002. Katherine was admitted to the Florida Bar in October 2002 and began her legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in Pinellas County from 2002 to 2003. She then joined Barbas Nunez Sanders Butler & Hovsepian, PA, first as an associate and later as a partner, practicing there from 2003 to 2018 before opening her own firm. Outside the office, Katherine’s love of horses has never faded—she raises and shows American Quarter Horses locally and nationally, earning two Reserve World Championships in Amateur Working Hunter Under Saddle at the AQHA World Show and NSBA World Show. She also enjoys supporting her daughter’s hunter jumper competitions and traveling with her husband, daughter, and five dogs. Katherine represents clients in workers’ compensation, Social Security disability, personal injury, and criminal defense matters.
