About Dixie Daimwood

Dixie Daimwood is a Partner in the firm’s Tallahassee, Florida office. Dixie joined the firm in 2018 and concentrates her practice in business litigation, contract disputes, commercial transactions, construction defect claims, lien law, labor and employment defense, and insurance coverage matters. She is admitted to practice in Florida and New York state courts and maintains an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell’s peer review rating system.

Dixie attended college at Florida State University (FSU) from 2001-2005, where she held a coveted position on FSU’s dance team, The Golden Girls. Dixie attended Barry University School of Law, graduating with honors in 2008. Dixie’s legal career started as a criminal Prosecutor in Orlando, Florida, where she tried more than 50 cases. Dixie relocated back to Tallahassee to accept an offer from the Florida Office of Attorney General, where she served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Appeals Division. Dixie transitioned her practice to civil litigation in 2012 and, since that time, she has represented businesses, individuals, and corporations in federal and state courts throughout the State in matters ranging from complex multi-party construction defect litigation to fraternity hazing & wrongful death cases, contract disputes, lien foreclosure actions, employment discrimination claims, and first-party commercial and residential property insurance claims.

Dixie is actively engaged in her local community. In 2019, Dixie was appointed by Leon County Commissioners to the Leon County Educational Facility Authority Citizen Advisory Board, and remained on the Board until July 2023. Dixie also served on the founding board of FSU Alumni Association’s Pride Alumni Network, and she was the keynote speaker during Florida State University’s inaugural Lavender Graduation event. Dixie is a graduate of Leadership Tallahassee Class 33, a member of the William H. Stafford American Inn of Court, and a volunteer with the Guardian Ad Litem program, where she has served as the Court Appointed Advocate for multiple abused, abandoned, and neglected children.

In Dixie’s spare time, she enjoys cheering on the Florida State Seminoles and traveling with her spouse and their three young children.
