Davisson Dunlap, Jr. is one of the original founding partners of Dunlap & Shipman, P.A., having opened the firm’s Tallahassee office. Dave’s primary areas of practice are civil litigation, construction law, commercial business law and commercial litigation.
Dave graduated from Presbyterian College with a B.A. in 1966 and from the University of Florida College of Law with a J.D. in 1971. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1971 and is a member of the U.S. District Court, Northern and Middle Districts of Florida; U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit; U.S. Court of Federal Claims. He is the author and co-author of the “Recoverable Damages” chapter in Florida Construction Law and Practice, published by the Florida Bar beginning in 1983 and has contributed the updated chapters. He is the author of the chapter “Damages” Professional Liability of Lawyers, published by the Florida Bar in 1989, 1992, 2002.
Dave is a member of American Board of Trial Advocates, serving as President of the Florida Chapter in 2004. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, Tallahassee Bar Association and is an alumni of American Inns of Court, William H. Stafford (Tallahassee) Chapter.
Dave was born in Jacksonville, Florida and currently splits time between Cape San Blas and Tallahassee with his wife, Jan.
